I received a lovely comment on this is how the world begins while I was on my work-cation last week, requesting a list of which characters matched up to which fandoms. (I felt a little overwhelmed when I looked at the list, but I've given it a go!)

Also, my apologies to anyone who tried to read the story on AO3 when it was first posted; the formatting was all wonky. It should be fixed now!

Honestly, I thought it would be easier than this. )

Title: Send Somebody
Author: marcicat

Word Count: 5400
Rating: PG-13

Note: This story takes place in an alternate version of season 6, and loosely follows Ex-Spooks, Guns, and Money (send them all, there’s a party in Miami). It assumes Sam came back from hell right away, with soul firmly in place. Cas made a more triumphant return to heaven and is the de facto leader of the angels; Raphael and Crowley are still around, but without the power base they have in the show.

Instead of a pitched battle between Castiel and Raphael for the souls of Purgatory, there’s a much more fragmented scramble for the souls of Earth, including not just angels and demons, but also the pagan gods and goddesses — who decided that if God wasn’t going to show up for his own apocalypse, he was unlikely to quibble over a few souls.

(Also, Sam has a kitten.)

More Notes: Profound Bonds: Dean/Cas, Sam/Gabriel, and I’m certainly partial to the Michael/Jesse/Fiona for maximum adorableness, but if we’re talking about sex, there isn’t any in this story.

[In my google docs, this story is called LGM (party in Miami). That doesn't have any real significance.]

Author's Note: I realized one day that I've never written a fic with a female POV, and then I thought, "Hey, why not start with Fiona Glenanne?"  Because she's totally BAMF, obviously, and I like Burn Notice a lot but Michael's head is really pretty weird to be deciphering and as for Sam -- well, I'm just now trying to get over the gender discrimination in my writing, I think I'll give myself a little more time to tackle ageism. This story is set directly after the Burn Notice season 3 finale.  Title borrowed from the song "Lawyers, Guns, and Money," which I heard in the car on the way home from work on the last day of April and thought, "Hey, that would make a great story title."

I couldn't resist crossing over the Supernatural characters, despite the name confusion (Michael, Sam, Gabriel).  This takes into account all of SPN Season 5, although I've retconned various elements to better fit the story.

Title: Ex-Spooks, Guns, and Money (send them all, there's a party in Miami)
Author: marcicat
Rating: R

Fandom: Burn Notice, Supernatural
Pairings: Fiona/Michael, Sam/Gabriel, Dean/Castiel

Warnings: Guns.  Explosives.  Angels.  Also, while this fic lacks any real violence, it does reference violent events from both shows.

Summary: After Michael is taken (S3 finale), Fiona and Sam run into the Winchesters and a whole mess of demons.  Various people show up, and everyone waits for Michael.

There's also an prequel kind of thing, that I wrote and posted for starandrea's birthday, waaaaaay back in June. It explains the whole netbook thing.

Title: one moment in mind
Author: marcicat

Rating: PG-13 (If you mention Lucifer, killing, and a pornographic dvd, that automatically bumps you to PG-13, right?)
Wordcount: 950

Summary: A 'Party in Miami' (aka 'story I haven't finished') prequel/outtake, from Sam's POV.  Probably makes the most sense if you've seen SPN season 5.

Title: All I Want For Christmas Is An Alibi
Author: marcicat
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 3000
Shoutouts To: Burn Notice, White Collar, Psych, Leverage, Supernatural

Summary: If I knew what was happening, it would be a Christmas miracle. (Basically, I thought of little things for different fandoms I wanted to write, and then mushed them all together into one story.)

He'd agreed to Shawn's invitation on an impulse after one too many jewelry commercials made him willing to be anywhere but in the same city as his ex-wife come Christmas day, and all Shawn had said was "pack your flip-flops and your badge." The tickets said Arizona, but he was betting it was just to switch planes. "And what are you reading?"

"It's a novelization of the Christmas spirit," Shawn said, still looking at the book, though it was hard to tell if he was actually reading. "I stole it from Gus' desk."
